Enter your details in the calculator above and it will show your estimated due date, your baby's current age in weeks, and the recommended dates for every pregnancy scan — from the viability scan at 6 weeks through to the foetal wellbeing scan after 34 weeks. Choose the tab that matches what you know:
Enter the first day of your last period and your average cycle length. Most women use this tab.
If you know the approximate date you conceived, enter it here for a more precise estimate.
Enter your embryo transfer date. The calculator adjusts automatically for Day 3 or Day 5 transfers.
Already had a scan and been given a gestational age? Enter it here to calculate your due date from that measurement.
A full-term pregnancy lasts around 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. Your due date is an estimate of when your baby is most likely to arrive — and only about 4% of babies are born exactly on it. Most babies arrive anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks, and that is completely normal. Think of your due date as a guide, not a deadline: use it to plan your antenatal appointments, your scan schedule, and your preparation for birth.
Once you have your due date, the calculator also shows the recommended window for each scan. Here is what each one is for:
Confirms the pregnancy is in the uterus, checks the heartbeat, and gives an early estimate of your due date. Usually the first scan you will have.
Screens for chromosomal conditions such as Down syndrome by measuring the fluid at the back of the baby’s neck. Often combined with a blood test.
Recommended for women with risk factors for preterm labour. Checks the length of the cervix to assess the risk of early delivery.
The most detailed scan of your pregnancy. Checks the baby’s organs, spine, limbs and face, and confirms placenta position and amniotic fluid levels. Many parents find out the gender here if they wish.
Monitors the baby’s growth and position and checks blood flow through the placenta. Recommended more frequently for high-risk pregnancies or growth concerns.
Checks the baby’s position, size, movements, breathing and amniotic fluid in the final weeks before delivery. Helps confirm readiness for birth.
If your periods are irregular, the LMP method may not give an accurate due date. In that case, your first ultrasound scan is the most reliable estimate — the viability scan between 6 and 11 weeks gives the most accurate measurement of foetal age.
If you have PCOS or irregular cycles and are unsure about your dates, mention this at your first antenatal appointment. Dr. Ramya Sadaram will confirm your dates through examination and an early scan at Blissful Pregnancy Clinic, Visakhapatnam.
This calculator provides an estimate based on standard pregnancy guidelines. Only your doctor can accurately determine your due date based on your complete medical history, cycle pattern, and scan findings. Always confirm your due date and scan schedule with your gynaecologist.
